Privacy Policy

1. Client-Side Subtitle Processing
Subfit is engineered primarily as a client-side web application. When you convert formats (SRT ↔ WebVTT), shift timecodes, calibrate RTL punctuation, merge subtitles, or process batches into ZIP archives, all parsing, manipulation, and file generation occur entirely inside your browser's local memory (RAM).
Your subtitle files and media content are never uploaded to our servers for these operations.
2. Subtitle Translation Service
If you explicitly use the automated translation tool, dialogue text strings (without timecode structure) are transmitted to external translation APIs (Google Translate GTX API or MyMemory API) or routed via our serverless translation proxy to retrieve translated text. If you require strict offline isolation, do not invoke the online translation feature.
3. Telemetry and Analytics
To monitor service health, combat abuse, and prevent denial-of-service, our Cloudflare Worker endpoint (/api/telemetry) records minimal usage metadata when tools are operated:
- Tool Name (e.g.,
converter,shift,rtl) - Action Name (e.g.,
convert,shift,batch_zip) - Country Code (derived from Cloudflare edge IP metadata)
- Coarse Browser & OS (parsed from the User-Agent header)
- Processing Duration (execution milliseconds reported by client)
- Client Identifier / IP (used for rate limiting and daily abuse caps)
We never collect, transmit, or store subtitle text, file names, or user media in our telemetry database.
4. Data Retention
Operational telemetry logs stored in our Cloudflare D1 database are retained for a maximum of 90 days, after which historical records are purged.
5. Infrastructure & CDN
Subfit is hosted on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare Pages. When accessing the site, Cloudflare acts as an edge reverse-proxy and CDN, and may log connection IP addresses and request metadata in accordance with standard network operations and Cloudflare's own Privacy Policy.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
- Cookies: General public visitors receive no tracking cookies. The only cookie used is
subfit_admin_session, which is set exclusively for authenticated administrators logging into the protected monitoring dashboard. - Local Storage: Your browser's
localStorageis used solely to store your UI language preference (subfit_locale) and theme preferences. No personal tracking identifiers are placed in local storage.
7. No Third-Party Trackers or Advertising
Subfit does not host third-party tracking scripts, behavioral surveillance beacons, marketing trackers, or advertisements.
